Description from Incident 29006:

I am unable to access the Interiors rep contact list on outlook, even though he's tried sharing it with me. Do you know how to fix this?

Solution from Incident 29006:

Share a contacts folder with individuals

  1. In People, in the folder pane, click Contacts.
  2. Click Folder. Then, in the Properties group, click Folder Permissions.
  3. In the Name box, click Default.
  4. Under Permissions, in the Permission Level list, click Publishing Editor or any of the other options.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Folder sharing permissions
  7. You can create custom permissions by selecting the appropriate check boxes and options under Permissions.

With this permission level (or role)

Owner

Create, read, change, and delete all items and files, and create subfolders. As the folder owner, you can change the permission levels that other people have for the folder. (Doesn’t apply to delegates.)

Publishing Editor

Editor

Create, read, change, and delete all items and files.

Publishing Author

Create and read items and files, create subfolders, and change and delete items and files that you create. (Doesn’t apply to delegates.)

Nonediting Author

Create and read items and files, and delete items and files that you create.

Reviewer

Read items and files only.

None

You have no permission. You can’t open the folder.

For those accessing the shared folder:

  1. Once that individual has been given access: Open Outlook, then go to the Contacts tab.

  2. Click on the Share Contacts button.

  3. Type the name of the mailbox / contact list in the Open Shared Contacts window

  4. The contact group will show up on the left side under Shared Contacts
