When changing an existing Users UPN\Email due to a name change (i.e, marriage, legal name change) it can cause several issues with software login. To that end and to mitigate issues it is best to treat the situation as a termination\new hire IN TERMS OF SOFTWARE.
Best to coordinate the UPN change when the user can be off the following day to provide time to process the Software changes.
*Note - Vantagepoint must be updated as well to allow user SSO to take affect with new UPN. Currently Mindy Disney or Tim Milan are handling these changes.
Once the new UPN has been created please create software accounts (matching the ones the user currently has) using the new UPN, these should include at minimum;
Adobe
Autodesk
Bluebeam (will need to work with user to login to Studio with OLD UPN and reassign any sessions to NEW UPN, if they exist)
This is not necessarily the entire list, other software accounts to consider could include;
Enscape
Sketchup
Currently, we need to work with the user to remap their OneNote notebooks. The issue is the OneNote notebook PATH will be saved using the old UPN\OneDrive location and needs to be deleted and reconnected to the new OneDrive path. For example
//leoadaly-my.sharepoint.com/personal/drschappert_leoadaly_com/
is shown in notebook path where drschappert is old UPN but the actual notebook path is now drXXXXXXXX where x's represent new name.
Additionally, the computer will retain old UPN in Zscaler profile. This needs to be cleared as well, see link to document below -

Also at the time of this article creation we did verify that Teams phone number assignment, Yammer membership and MFA assignment remained intact.
