Enscape closing but not crashing Revit

  • install our currently deployed NVidia and Enscape from Software Center
  • configure NVidia (Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Global Settings tab) changing Global Presets from Base profile to Windows App - Dynamic streaming
  • open any supported version of Revit and open one of the Revit sample files and select a 3D View in it
  • attempt to use Enscape and it should trigger the Enscape Renderer Error window
  • at the bottom left of that window, expand the See details drop down which will give the error noted in this link from the Enscape community forum... https://forum.enscape3d.com/index.php?thread/22106-error-code-vulkan-error-vk-queue-submit-errordevicelost-at-queue-submit/
  • after reviewing this article, it was noted that the solution was to open Revit > go to the Enscape menu > open General Settings and in the Rendering tab uncheck the Hardware-accelerated Ray-Tracing box (which also unchecks and greys out the Ray-Traced Sun Shadows)
  • after making this change, close and reopen Revit and the same sample file (not sure this is necessary but out of an abundance of caution) and Enscape should work as expected with no errors
  • also confirmed the setting change was across all supported Revit versions and the setting is global and is passed to other users on the same system

I am adding a couple of additional images for clarity.
