If one is unable to log into Teams, the below screens are examples of what would appear. 


Scenario 1:

Below is the screen you would see when already in Teams and there is a network or service interruption:


Solutions:

Sign in again

Check network connectivity 

Restart the computer


Also, this can occur when there is an issue on Microsoft's end or we are experiencing widespread connectivity issues.

Scenario 2: 

The below screen appears when stored login information becomes corrupt. 



Solutions: 

Click Restart or sign out of the app and sign back in. If that doesn't work, completely close out of Teams by doing the following: 

1) Left click on the up arrow to open the App Tray, as shown below. 

2) Right click on the Teams icon as pictured below. 

3) Left click on Quit.


You may also close Teams by ending task in the Task Manager. 


4. Next, you will want to clear the Teams cache:

    a) Go to File Explorer, and type in %appdata%\Microsoft\teams.

    b) Once in the directory, you’ll see a few of the following folders:

  • From within ‘Application Cache’, go to Cache and delete any of the files in the Cache location.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache

  • From within ‘Blob_storage’, delete any files that are located in here if any.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage

  • From within ‘Cache’, delete all files.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache

  • From within ‘databases’, delete all files.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases

  • From within ‘GPUCache’, delete all files.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache

  • From within ‘IndexedDB’, delete the .db file.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB

  • From within ‘Local Storage’, delete all files.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage

  • Lastly, from within ‘tmp’, delete any file.
    * %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp


5. Once the cleanup is finally completed, you can now restart Teams
