On the PC having the issue, go to: 

C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Registry.pol 

It may be hidden so you'll possibly need to put in this full path in order to access


Modify the folder to .old to force an update and it should Ideally add Direct access after that


Then run gpupdate /force /sync (restarts the PC)


You'll also want to make sure the pc is in the direct access clients group which you can check by going to active directory users and computers and searching for computers and going to properties. If not, then you'll want to add it.








Direct access should apply shortly after that
