Crystal Reports is an add-in that "some" Powertools users need access to in order to run reports.

This is not needed that often but it is used. In January 2018 we updated to the new SKM Powertools. It's almost the end of June and the first request for Crystal Reports has come in.

  1. Our current version of Crystal Reports is 3 years old. That seems satisfactory as it merely processes the data provided by Powertools.

  2. Run "CrystalReportInstallation.exe" on the PC that are requires it. It unzips the installation folders into a location on the C: drive. Typically this is the PTW 32 folder.

  3. Run "CR_Install.exe" as yourself. The installation takes three seconds.

  4. To verify: Open SKM Powertools. Open a demo electrical drawing. Go to Documents / Reports

  5. Crystal Reports is the bottom box.

  6. Choose a report from the options.

  7. The results should look like this:

  8. If you get an error before this, it may likely be an ODBC error. Check permissions on the file. If permissions are good, you might have to setup an ODBC connection in Crystal Reports from Contorl Panel. (Search online on how to do that.)
