For example, a customized workspace was created within AutoCAD 2013, and you would like to migrate this workspace to another workstation or to AutoCAD 2016…

Migrating a custom workspace:

  • Determine the location of the CUIx file where the customized workspace is located
  • For instance, this may be the ACAD.cuix file which for AutoCAD 2016 is located by default here:?C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\R20.1\enu\Support
  • Open AutoCAD 2016
  • If migrating to a different workstation, copy the CUIx file to the default location for that AutoCAD installation
  • Type?CUI?into the command line and press Enter
  • Click the "Transfer" tab
  • Under the "Customizations in New File" header, click "Open", and select the CUIx file in question

  • Expand the Workspaces" header
  • Left-click and drag the workspace(s) to the menu under "Customizations in Main File" header
  • Click Apply and OK to close the dialog box

For example, you?want?to transfer a workspace from one?computer to another without having?to transfer the entire CUI file.
