Problem: PDFs come out with gibberish characters. Most OK but some are unreadable.


Solution:


  1. Verify which PDF writer is being used. This should NOT happen with Bluebeam.
  2. In the above example the default PDF writer was Adobe PDF. The user had Adobe Creative Cloud installed. This is an old, known issue with Adobe.
  3. To fix in in Adobe go to Devices under Windows Settings. Under Printers & Scanners choose Adobe PDF. Select Printing Preferences. Uncheck the box that says “Rely on System Fonts only; do not use document fonts.”
  4. Save and try again. Problem should be resolve.
