The Jabber "Reset" option keeps the user's contacts but does wipe all chat history from those contacts.

A user may have the chats store in a folder under Outlook but many do not after our conversion to O365.

However, you have another source for these chat history: Jabber.


Jabber chats are stored in a small database located in the "History" folder inside each user's AppData Windows profile:


Username\Appdata\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\History.


To preserve a user's Jabber chats do the following:

  1. Copy the History folder from the above path to the local disk BEFORE you reset Jabber.
  2. Reset Jabber for the user.
  3. Have the user Sign In to Jabber, then Sign Out again.
  4. Overwrite the new (empty) History folder with the saved version.
  5. User signs into Jabber again. Their chat history for all contacts will be present.
