Used when FortiClient needs to be uninstalled or temporarily disabled.

  1. Right-click the FortiClient icon in the taskbar. Open the console.
  2. On the Compliance tab, Disconnect from the EMS & Confirm
  3. Yes to disconnect.
  4. Right-click the FortiClient icon in the taskbar.
  5. Select "Shutdown FortiClient"


Alternate method:

  1. from administrative command line
  2. run "sc stop fortishield"
  3. delete fmon_cache.dat in C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\FortiClient\
  4. Restart FortiClient.
