Obtaining a company linked Autodesk account for access to A360 (aka BIM 360)
To obtain a company linked Autodesk account, please enter a HELPdesk ticket. DO NOT CREATE ONE ON YOUR OWN WITH YOUR COMPANY EMAIL ADDRESS as it will NOT be linked.
- If you are unsure if you have a company Autodesk account – ASK
- If you need one – ASK
- If you have accidentally created one on your own using your company email address, it will not be linked. You must do the following before one can be created for you
- Login into the Autodesk account you created and change the contact email address to your own personal email address (e.g. [email protected]) and save the changes
- You should receive a confirmation email sent to that personal address which you must respond to before proceeding
- Sign out of the Autodesk site and advise via your ticket that you have completed the above
- Your linked account will be created and you should receive a validation email from Autodesk (watch your Junk Mail folder as they go there sometimes) and respond as directed in the email
- Sign into your new, linked account
Occasionally, problems occur during the process and if you don’t receive a validation email from Autodesk (make sure to check your Junk email and the Ironport), please update your ticket indicating such and we will have to open a support case with Autodesk to resolve which usually takes one to three days to resolve.
Once you have confirmed your account, you can proceed to the next steps to setup a username only (not email address) login to your Autodesk account which will help with continuity between cloud based and local based files and projects.
To edit/create an A360 username in your Autodesk account so that it matches your username in Revit for access to Cloud functionality from within Revit, do the following...
- login into https://360.autodesk.com using your Autodesk account email address and password
- confirm you are logged into A360.Autodesk.com
- select the small figure in the upper right and select Profile in the bubble that opens
- select Security Settings
- select Change Username and enter in just your Revit username (should be your network user name) but not the full email address
- select Save Username
- sign out of your A360 account
- open Revit and sign in to A360 from within Revit using only your new username and Autodesk password
- you should now be able to Render with no errors
- You can now use only the username/password for logging into your Autodesk account
