- Ensure your laptop is connected to a wireless network other than LAD-LAN. Note: With exception to LAD-LAN, treat all wireless networks (including LAD-LAN-Guest) as untrusted networks when using LAD/LAN owned PCs.
- Locate the FortiClient icon in the lower right-hand corner of your desktop.
- Right click the FortiClient icon, and select LAD-LAN Data Center VPN.
- In the Authentication Information window, enter your Windows Login Username (without domain) and Password. Then select Connect. Optional: Check “Auto Connect” to reconnect to this particular VPN whenever you are not connected to the company network.
- If you already had an active VPN session that was ended due to WiFi connectivity changes, you may see following dialog. Select OK
- If you receive the notification on the right, click OK. Double check your internet connection then repeat steps 3 and
- Your PC is connected to the VPN once you receive the following notification and the FortiClient icon has a gold padlock. Once connected, the FortiClient will also map your network drives automatically (no intervention needed).
Disconnecting from the VPN
- Locate the FortiClient icon in the lower right-hand corner of your desktop.
- Right click the FortiClient icon, and select Disconnect.
- You will receive the following notification once the VPN has been disconnected.
