AutoCAD or Civil 3D 2018 will not open

Symptom:

User reports that when they try to open either AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D 2018 (so far only this version) that they may see the pre-loading status bar but then the application just stops without displaying the applicable splash screen.

Determination:

It has been determined – after using various methods including full uninstalls/install and recreating user profiles – that the cause is a corrupt installation of the Autodesk AutoCAD 2018 VBA Enabler.

Solution:

Pending the implementation of the permanent fix in our deployments, to correct this problem, go to ARP (Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel) and uninstall the Autodesk AutoCAD VBA Enabler and then manually reinstall it from this location in the Software share…

As is typical, it does require admin rights but can be done in a Switch User or via RDP with the user still logged in. The reinstallation resolves the problem immediately and the user should be able to open AutoCAD / C3D upon completion.
