If an error appears that shows Setup was unsuccessful error 23 when opening WebEx, it is probably defaulting to the Microsoft Edge internet browser.


To change this so that WebEx will function correctly, please do the following:


Windows 10 -

  1. Click on the Windows icon (Start) and type Default App Settings.
  2. Once the window is open, look for Web browser

  3. Click on Microsoft Edge and select Internet Explorer

  4. Close the Default Apps window.
  5. Open the WebEx meeting again and it will work properly.


Windows 7 -

To change the program defaults in Windows 7, begin by clicking on Start > All Programs and then locate and click on the Default Programs icon at the top of the list. If you can’t find this icon, you can search for Default Programs in the Search Programs And Files search box on the Start Menu.


In the window that opens, click on Set Your Default Programs to open the programs default options window.


In this window, you will notice on the left hand side there is a list of the programs you have installed on your computer. Click Internet Explorer and notice that you instantly get two options.


Click Set this program as default and press OK.
