When using the preview pane in Windows, PDF files will give them following error. "Could not load file or assembly".




This error occurs because the pdf file has XFA Form data. Bluebeam does not support XFA Forms, so when trying to preview a pdf with this type of data when Bluebeam is your default application, you will see this error. You have two options.

  1. You can choose to keep Bluebeam as your default program but turn off the preview panel by clicking the button in the top right.


  • You can choose to keep the preview panel, but you need to make Adobe Reader your default PDF viewer. Select a PDF file, right click and choose open with > choose default program. You can then choose Adobe Reader and make sure there is a check mark next to always use the selected program
