If a Windows 7 user is having trouble with VPN access, please follow these steps.


  1. Run gpupdate /force in the command prompt to update their group policies
  2. Disable the IP Helper Services in computer management.
  3. Stop the Service
  4. Change the Startup proprieties to disabled




If the computer is still having issues with VPN after rebooting, edit some registry keys

  1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\DNSClient\DnsPolicyConfig
  2. Rename DNSPolicyConfig to DNSPolicyConfig.old.
  3. Reboot the computer
