If you are trying to use dameware to access someone's machine and it complains that the service is not running, you can attempt to restart the service on the users computer. Sometimes the service will refuse to run for some reason. If this happens, the service needs to be reinstalled.


  1. Open Dameware Mini Remote Control on your computer.
  2. Select File > Uninstall Service > enter the ip address for the problem computer.
  3. Once the service is set to uninstall, reboot the effected computer.

When it comes back online try to remote into it with Dameware and it should attempt to reinstall the service.
